I am working on updating technology for a portable conference AV system that is set up in large hotel ballrooms for 3 day conferences. The configuration involves a technology table near the back of the conference room, and then a 100 foot cable run up to a rack behind the stage. Video transmission will be HD-SDI and we will build a cable "snake" consisting of 2 SDI cables (one for projectors, one for stage monitor) and one CAT6 ethernet cable (network / audio) and at each venue, the snake will be unrolled from the reel and taped down with gaffing tape, and then rolled back onto the cable reel at the end of the event. I'm looking for a recommendation of a lightweight, flexible, durable cable capable of carrying HD-SDI signals for 100+ feet, and a recommendation for the matching connectors. I'm currently leaning towards Belden 1855A cable as a starting point but wanted recommendation from this group if anyone has expertise in similar configurations. Input is greatly appreciated!
