I apologize for the delay in responding. I've been traveling and it appears my server had some issues, so it failed to notify me of new posts.
From direct experience with this, I would be very hesitant to live stream a one-time event from a MacBook Pro. MacBooks often make very poor encoding options because they thermal throttle the CPU very quickly, and encoding on Apple computers is usually mainly handled by the CPU.
If I were you, I would consider renting a more reliable hardware encoding solution if at all possible. Live streaming is something that takes a lot of tweaking and trial and error. I would even be more comfortable using something like a Blackmagic ATEM Mini Pro, which at least has consistent performance and predictability.
