Ultimately, track lighting isn't the best fit for lighting stages in a church setting. The fixture options are limited and they also have pretty low weight and power limits. So I would first recommend having a plan to possibly replace the track lighting altogether if/when possible.
Now, with that said, you still can get decent lighting with the right placement, fixtures, bulbs, and modifiers.
If you can provide some images that will definitely help.
